PYRATE DAZE TO INVADE THE QUEEN MARY SEPT. 19 AND 20, 2009!
Combining the Golden Age of Pirates and the Romantic Age of Steam Punk, Pyrate Daze 2009 will go down in the captain's logs as the most unique gathering since Jules Verne met Blackbeard! Come see a plethora of eclectic gadgets and gizmos for sale - and witness a live sea battle where we take the risks and you take home the bargains!
Pyrate Daze promised to be the premiere event on the west coast for sea dogs and land lubbers alike. Attendees will be able to meet some of their favorite Hollywood celebrities, such as Vernon Wells from Mad Max 2 and Marty Klebba from Pirates of the Caribbean - live and in person. There will also be plenty of special live musical guests, including Abney Park, The Rusty Cutlass, The Doxie Chicks and Cindy Warner as The Dread Pirate Willoughby Caught. The musicians will be performing a remarkable variety of lively sea chanteys and favorites. And as attendees, guests will have access to special discounts to rooms aboard the Queen Mary and local attractions.
Special effects company Ka-Boom VFX will host a Pyro Show at Pyrate Daze. "Our guests will be witness to this rare site, when pirates broadside the Queen Mary in Long Beach harbor, fight the British Royal Marines and take over for the weekend," said Pyrate Daze CEO Mitch Toles. "Inspired by action movies, this realistic battle is but one of many of the spectacular things Pyrate Daze will have to offer."
The event also offers an exclusive maquerade ball and banquet. Inspired by wealth and royalty, the masquerade ball is a costumed event held in the Britannia salon aboard the Queen Mary. Catered by the top chefs on board the Queen Mary, the dinner promises to be a delicious cuisine fit for a king. And, of course, there will be an Exhibit Hall for vendors to sell their wares to the event attendees.
